Laminated Glass

What is Laminated Glass?

Laminated glass combines safety, performance and aesthetics in a single advanced glazing solution. It consists of two or more glass panes permanently bonded together with an interlayer, typically made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB). This construction combines the clarity and strength of glass with the flexibility and protective properties of the interlayer.

During the manufacturing process, the glass panes and PVB interlayer are fused together under carefully controlled heat and pressure conditions. Any trapped air is removed to create a perfectly transparent, highly durable glass panel with exceptional structural integrity. In the event of breakage, the glass fragments remain adhered to the interlayer, significantly reducing the risk of injury and preventing the glass from falling apart. This makes laminated glass an ideal solution for environments where safety and protection are essential.

In addition to its safety benefits, laminated glass also offers excellent acoustic insulation, helping to reduce external noise and improve indoor comfort. Whether you are looking to enhance building security, improve acoustic performance or create a refined architectural appearance, laminated glass provides a versatile and high-performance solution.

Applications

Laminated glass is widely used as safety glazing in applications where there is an increased risk of impact, falling or injury caused by broken glass. It is particularly suitable for architectural applications where both safety and performance are critical. Common applications include: glass roofs and overhead glazing, doors and door assemblies, interior glass partitions and walls, commercial and residential building projects, acoustic office environments, and automotive whindshields. Its combination of safety, sound insulation and visual elegance makes laminated glass a preferred choice across a wide range of industries and projects.
