What is coated toughened glass?
Coated toughened glass combines the strength and safety of toughened glass with the functional and aesthetic benefits of high-performance coatings. Depending on the coating, the glass can provide enhanced solar control, thermal insulation, reflectivity, privacy and design flexibility.
From a striking mirrored or reflective appearance to effective protection against solar heat and improved thermal insulation, different coating technologies make coated glass suitable for a wide range of interior and exterior applications.

Energy
Energy is a solar control glass designed to significantly reduce solar heat gain while maintaining high light transmission and thermal insulation. Its coating limits the amount of solar energy entering the building while allowing a high proportion of natural daylight to pass through.
Energy strikes the ideal balance between solar control, natural daylight and thermal comfort, making it a versatile glazing solution for energy-efficient buildings and a comfortable indoor climate.
Within the Energy range, Energy 72/38T is available. This heat-treated version offers 73% light transmission and a solar factor of 39%.
Energy 72/38T is ideal for:

iplus
iplus is a high-performance low-e glass designed to reduce heat loss and improve thermal comfort in buildings. Its advanced coating combines excellent thermal insulation with hig light transmission and a neutral appearance, allowing plenty of natural daylight in while helping to retain heat indoors.
Its high light transmission makes the most of available daylight. Combined with its high solar factor, iplus also allows buildings to benefit form the sun's natural heat, helping to reduce energy consumption and create a comfortable indoor climate.
We offer the following heat-treated iplus versions:
- iplus 1.0NT − Ug-value of 1,0 W/(m2.K), with high light transmission and excellent thermal insulation
- iplus 1.1NT − Ug-value of 1,1 W(m2.K), with high light transmission, high solar gain and a neutral appearance
Both versions are suitable for double and triple insulating glazing units, providing an efficient solution for energy-efficient building projects.

Mirastar®
MIRASTAR® is a highly reflective coated glass with an appearance that changes depending on the lighting conditions. It can function as a mirror, transparent glass or one-way mirror, creating a distinctive interplay between light, reflection and transparency.
When there is a difference in light levels between two spaces, MIRASTAR® provides controlled visibility. From the darker side, it is possible to see through the glass towards the lighter side, while from the other side the glass appears as a mirror. This makes MIRASTAR® an attractive choice for applications where privacy and visual control are important.
MIRASTAR® reflective glass is ideally suited for:
- shower screens
- doors and partitions
- cabinet doors and furniture
- balustrade panels
- balustrades
MIRASTAR® is available from stock in 8 and 10 mm.
Mirropane Chrome
The MirropaneTM Chrome range combines a durable chrome mirror finish with a highly transparent protective coating that provides exceptional resistance to moisture and corrosion. Developed for applications where conventional silver-backed mirrors may not be suitable, MirropaneTM Chrome performs particularly well in humid or intensively used environments. The robust coating also allows the glass to be toughened, laminated and bent, offering excellent flexibility in both processing and application.
The range includes two versions:
- MirropaneTM Chrome − transparent from both sides, ideal for applications where visibility and reflection needs to be combined, such as shower screens and glass doors.
- MirropaneTM Chrome Plus − opaque, for applications where transparency is not required.

- shower enclosures and screens
- glass doors and partitions
- interior applications with a mirror finish
- technical and commercial applications

Planibel Pyrolitic Low-E
Planibel Pyrolitic Low-E combines excellent thermal insulation with a hard, durable low-e coating. The coating helps retain heat indoors and reduce heat loss, while maintaining high light transmission. This contributes to lower energy consumption and improved thermal comfort.
The hard coating also brings pratical benefits. It is easy to process, highly scratch-resistant and suitable for heat treatment, making Planibel Pyrolitic Low-E a versatile solution for a wide range of glazing applications.
Within the Planibel Pyrolitic Low-E range, we have Planibel G fasT available from stock.
Planibel G fasT combines a Ug-value of 1,5 W/(m2.K) with 75% light transmission and a solar factor of 76%. Its specially treated surface also provides excellent scratch resistance, offering additional benefits during processing and maintenance.
The glass can be used as single glazing, double glazing or laminated glass and can undergo heat treatment.
Planibel G fasT is ideal for:
- windows and façade glazing
- insulating glazing
- laminated glazing
- applications where high scratch resistance is required
With Planibel G fasT, you get a versatile low-e glass solution that combines thermal insulation with durability, easy processing and excellent scratch resistance.

Stopsol
Stopsol is a solar control glass featuring a reflective coating applied to the glass using a pyrolytic process. The coating controls the amount of solar radiation passing through the glass while giving the exterior of the building an elegant, reflective appearance.
Stopsol can be toughened and laminated, making it suitable for a wide range of façade systems and architectural applications.
Its reflective surface can also enhance privacy. It reduces visibility from outside while, under normal lighting conditions, maintaining visibility fom the inside out. Depending on the lighting conditions and the position of the glass within the façade, Stopsol creates an effective balance between solar control, visual comfort and privacy.
Stopsol is ideal for:
- façades
- windows in residential and commercial buildings
- balustrade panels and opaque façade sections
Within the Stopsol range, Stopsol Supersilver is available from stock in 6 mm, while Stopsol Classic is available from stock in 8 mm.

SunGuard®
SunGuard® combines high light transmission with effective solar heat control, helping to create bright, comfortable interiors while reducing solar heat gain. Its advanced coating technology makes SunGuard® an excellent choice for contemporary architecture, combining high performance with a subtle appearance and consistent façade aesthetics.
SunGuard® SuperNeutral
SunGuard® SuperNeutral offers effective solar control, high light transmission and a distinctly neutral appearance. Its double-silver coating provides high selectivity and efficient protection against solar heat.
Within this range, SN 51 HT and SN 63 HT are available from stock. Both heat-treated versions offer a different balance between light transmission and solar control, allowing the glazing performance to be matched to the requirements of the project.
SunGuard® eXtraSelective
SunGuard® eXtraSelective is designed for very high selectivity, providing an excellent balance between natural daylight and protection against solar heat. Its triple-silver coating delivers high light transmission, low reflectivity and a consistent colour, creating a transparent and contemporary appearance.
Within this range, SNX 60 HT is available for applications where high light transmission, effective solar control and a modern façade aesthetic come together.
