Coated Toughened Glass

Coated toughened glass combines the strength and safety of toughened glass with advanced functional or decorative coatings, delivering enhanced performance in terms of reflection, solar control and privacy. This results in a versatile glazing solution suitable for both interior and exterior applications across a wide range of architectural and commercial projects. Depending on the selected coating, the effect can range from mirrored and light-reflective to solar control or partially transparent with controlled visibility.

Solutions such as Mirastar®, MirropaneTM Chrome and Stopsol combine these properties with high resistance to moisture, corrosion and intensive use. As a result, coated toughened glass offers a durable solution where light, privacy and aesthetics come together.

Mirastar®

Mirastar® is a highly reflective coated glass that creates a dynamic visual effect depending on lighting conditions. The glass can function as a mirror, transparent glass or a one-way mirror, offering a sophisticated interplay between visibility and reflection.

When there is a difference in light intensity between two spaces, the glass creates controlled transparency: visibility is maintained from the darker side towards the lighter side, while the opposite side retains a reflective mirror effect. This makes Mirastar® particularly suitable for applications where discretion, privacy and visual control are essential.

Typical applications for Mirastar® include:

  • shower enclosures
  • doors and glass partitions
  • furniture and cabinet doors
  • parapets
  • balustrades

Mirastar® is available from stock in 8 and 10 mm.

Mirropane Chrome

The MirropaneTM Chrome range consists of high-performance chrome mirrors featuring a durable transparent protective coating with exceptional resistance to moisture, corrosion and intensive use. These mirrors are specifically developed for demanding environments where conventional silver mirrors are not sufficiently durable. Thanks to their robust composition, MirropaneTM Chrome mirrors can be toughened, laminated and curved, offering maximum flexibility for processing and design integration.

The range includes multiple variants, each tailored to specific application requirements:

  • MirropaneTM Chrome: transparent on both sides, ideal for applications combining reflection and visibility, such as shower enclosures and glass doors.
  • MirropaneTM Chrome Plus: opaque, designed for applications where no visibility through the glass is required.

Typical applications for the MirropaneTM Chrome range include:

  • shower cabins and shower screens
  • glass doors and partition systems
  • mirrored interior applications
  • technical and commercial installations
  • observation and security rooms

MirropaneTM Chrome is available from stock in 8 mm while MirropaneTM Chrome Plus is available in 10 mm.

Stopsol

Stopsol is a solar control glass featuring a reflective pyrolytic coating designed to regulate solar heat gain while giving the building façade a refined reflective appearance. The coating reduces the amount of solar radiation transmitted through the glass, helping to improve indoor comfort and contribute to energy-efficient building performance. At the same time, the reflective exterior creates a sleek and contemporary architectural finish.

Stopsol can be processed as monolithic glass, laminated glass or insulating glass units, making it suitable for integration into a wide variety of façade systems and glazing applications.

In addition to solar control, Stopsol also enhances privacy by limiting visibility from the outside while maintaining outward visibility from the interior under normal daylight conditions. The result is an effective combination of solar protection, visual comfort and privacy.

Stopsol is commonly used in:

  • façades
  • windows for residential and commercial buildings
  • parapets and opaque façade sections

Stopsol is available from stock in 6 and 8 mm.
